We would like to welcome Registered Massage Therapist Susan to Oakville’s Palermo Physio and Wellness Centre. Susan brings years of Massage Therapy experience as well as an interest in treating individuals with acquired brain injury and autism.
Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
After a twenty-year career in Child and Youth Work and Behavioural Support Services, Susan decided it was time for a career change. She still had the drive to help people, so after careful consideration she decided Massage Therapy was the perfect way she could continue to help people, on a daily basis.
After two years at Ontario College of Health and Technology, she graduated in April 2014 with a diploma in massage therapy. Within three months, Susan passed the College of Massage Therapist of Ontario (CMTO) provincial exams and officially became a Registered Massage Therapist in August of 2014.
Massage therapy to Susan means fully focusing on the individual, as a whole. Listening to the patient’s needs and assessing where their muscular tension is originating from. Susan strives to make her treatment room a place where clients can relax and rejuvenate. Whether it is an acute or chronic injury or stresses of everyday life, Susan believes massage therapy is a valuable tool in healing and maintaining optimum health.
Susan has extensive experience with individuals who have many physical and developmental disabilities and Acquired Brain Injury. Susan has recently begun to combine both careers and has been treating individuals with Autism.
