Oakville’s Palermo Physiotherapy and Wellness team is happy to celebrate May as National Physiotherapy month. Our Physiotherapists, Registered Massage Therapists, Yoga Therapist and Chiropodist work in their own respective practices but most importantly as a team to help best service our patients. Physiotherapy is a recognized, evidence-based health profession that plays a key role in the health of individuals and populations across the care continuum.
National Physiotherapy Month is put in place by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) as a time to help celebrate the profession of Physiotherapy and recognize role of Physiotherapists in health promotion, injury prevention and increased fitness and wellness. The focus of this years National Physiotherapy Month is “healthy aging” and we, the Physios at Oakville’s Palermo Physio and Wellness are following suit with the focus of our blog.
Aging is associated with a multitude of health conditions that are challenging to the individual, their families and can put a strain on the Canadian health care system. Physiotherapy has an important role in assisting individuals in leading a long, active and healthy life!
