Tamara began practicing Hatha yoga in her basement as a teenager as a remedy for the stress and anxiety that accompanies student life. Gradually, over time, her yoga practice became more committed and consistent and, years later, in 2017, she completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program and became a Registered Yoga Teacher.
Since then, Tamara has taught yoga in private, studio, post-secondary and corporate environments. She has participated in teacher training programs in Restorative and SUP Yoga and is currently completing the last module of a 300-hour Advanced YTT. One of Tamara’s favorite things about yoga is that there is so much to learn, and she is always interested in discovering new ways to develop and share her practice.
For Tamara, yoga is about working with the breath and the body to cultivate a balance of softness, strength, self-love and acceptance. She believes that yoga is for everyone, and that it can, when used in conjunction with various clinical therapies, support people in developing strategies that promote wellness. As a part of the team at Palermo Physiotherapy and Wellness Centre, Tamara works with therapists and clients to create accessible awareness, breathing and movement practices that help manage stress and anxiety, improve strength and flexibility, and enhance overall health.
In her free time, Tamara enjoys swimming, hiking, paddle-boarding, reading good books and, of course, practicing yoga.
