Kristina is another one of our Oakville rock star physiotherapists!
Kristina’s path to physiotherapy began when she happened to take a course in Sports Medicine while finishing her undergraduate degree in Human Biology at the University of Toronto. After a year of volunteering in a variety of physiotherapy settings, she went on to obtain her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in Kingston. While there, she discovered the benefits of meditation and the importance of a balanced lifestyle.
Kristina strives to stay current and continually improve her skills with continuing education courses, including Manual Therapy (she has currently completed her Level II) and Acupuncture through AFCI. She is always on the lookout for new courses that will be beneficial in her practice and to her clients. Some courses she has under her belt include:
Completing the AFCI acupuncture exam.
Concussion management
Running injuries
TMJ (temperomandibular joint)
Pediatric
Kristina is a valued part of the team at Oakville’s Palermo Physiotherapy & Wellness and loves helping clients achieve their goals and return to their lives stronger and healthier. She loves seeing clients progress and focuses her treatment on three key ingredients: hands on manual therapy techniques to improve joint and tissue mobility, individualized exercise programs to help each person feel stronger and better, and an emphasis on client education in order to actively engage clients in their treatment and promote health and wellbeing.
In her practice, Kristina treats a variety of orthopaedic conditions from neck to low back strains and sprains, shoulder and knee injuries and rehabilitation, arthritis, etc. She has a special interest in working with runners. She has experience with Post Mastectomy clients, pediatric patients and a special interest in Cardiac Rehabilitation.
Oakville Physiotherapist Kristina has continued to expand her practice and and offer more services. She enjoys working with a paediatric population including infants with torticollis and delayed gross motor skills, to children with hip dysplasia and post sports injury and post fracture care. Helping children and youth return to activities of enjoyment such as dance and soccer is very rewarding!
In her spare time, Kristina loves playing tennis, running (and planning for a half marathon!), hiking, kickboxing, learning new languages, and reading a good book.
