Physiotherapist, MSc (PT) and Hons BSc (HMB)
Kristina’s path to physiotherapy began when she happened to take a course in Sports Medicine while she was finishing her undergraduate degree in Human Biology at the University of Toronto. After a year of volunteering in a variety of physiotherapy settings, she went on to obtain her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in Kingston. While there, she discovered the benefits of meditation and the importance of a balanced lifestyle.
Kristina strives to stay current and continually improve her skills with continuing education courses, including Manual Therapy (she has currently completed her Level II) and Acupuncture through AFCI. She is always on the lookout for new courses that will be beneficial in her practice and to her clients.
Kristina is thrilled to be part of the team at Palermo Physiotherapy & Wellness and helping clients achieve their goals and return to their lives stronger and healthier. She loves seeing clients progress and focuses her treatment on three key ingredients: hands on manual therapy techniques to improve joint and tissue mobility, individualized exercise programs to help each person feel stronger and better, and an emphasis on client education in order to actively engage clients in their treatment and promote health and wellbeing.
In her practice, Kristina treats a variety of orthopaedic conditions from neck to low back strains and sprains, shoulder and knee injuries and rehabilitation, arthritis, etc. She has experience with Post Mastectomy clients and a special interest in Cardiac Rehabilitation.
In her spare time, Kristina loves playing tennis, running (and planning for a half marathon!), hiking, kickboxing, learning new languages, and reading a good book.
