Meet Oakville Physio Nada Masoud – Team Tuesday

Why did you decide to become a Physiotherapist?

Going through high school, I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in sciences. Though I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted when I first started university, I researched different careers in the health care field. Physiotherapy appealed to me because of the strong rapports between practitioners and patients and being able to follow someone through progress of their treatment.

Why are you passionate about the Physiotherapy Professions?

I love helping people achieve their goals whether its returning to work or returning to an activity they enjoy. Working with people on a consistent basis allows us to establish rapport with our patients which is so fulfilling, knowing you are making an impact on somebody’s quality of life.

What do you like most about working at Oakville’s Palermo Physiotherapy and Wellness Centre?

I love my coworkers! The team at Palermo Physiotherapy is not only fun to be around but they’re all amazing resources for collaboration. Its great to work at a place where everyone is dedicated to delivering quality patient care and open to bouncing ideas off each other. I love being able to ask my colleagues their opinions and experiences with different injuries and situations. I’ve learned so much from them in the short time I’ve been here already and really appreciate the opportunity to grow as a health care provider.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my free time I enjoy being a newcomer to yoga practice and reading. I also love spending the weekends with my cousins and walking with my puppy.

Do you have a favourite sport or activity?

My go-to sport to watch is basketball though I’ll watch almost anything. I joke that I am too uncoordinated to participate in sports so instead I enjoy cheering on people from the sidelines.

What’s the most recent book you’ve read / movie you’ve watched?

I’ve been very into poetry lately. I’m currently reading “The Sun and Her Flowers” by Rupi Kaur; “Love Her Wild” by Atticus is on its way as I type! I recently watched Bohemian Rhapsody. Even though I’m not a huge Queen fan, I really enjoyed the story and the music!
