It’s hard to believe that Labour Day Long weekend is upon us! The days are already getting a little shorter and the evenings a little cooler. Pumpkin spice has infiltrated our favourite coffee shops.
Here are some ideas to take advantage of the last weekend of the summer:
Watch an Outdoor Movie
Outdoor movies play every Thursday night of the summer in Downtown Oakville. The movies start at 9pm. Fridays feature live music instead of a movie if that is more your style.
Go to the CNE
As the mark of the end of summer, The Ex is currently on in Toronto. Maybe make a day of going downtown and enjoying the rides and all the crazy food!
Go to Ribfest
Ribfest in Burlington is always the last weekend of the summer and it’s the biggest one in Canada. Even if ribs aren’t really your thing, the festival takes place right on the water front so you can take a walk by the pier or visit one of the many ice cream shops along Lakeshore.
Stay Local
Go for a walk, a hike. Maybe have an end-of-summer BBQ celebration with some friends. Swim while its still warm enough to be in the water. Read a good book outside. These are just a few small things you can do that require very little planning and allow you to enjoy the last bit of warm weather for the year.
Whatever your plans for the long weekend, enjoy the company of your family and friends, take care of yourself and one another and be safe!
