The team at Oakville’s Palermo Physio and Wellness would like to congratulate Kerri and Matthew on getting accepted into Canadian Physiotherapy programs.
They will both be starting this coming school year.
You will recognize Kerri as a Kinesiology co-op student from Sheridan who we convinced to stay on at the front-desk. Matthew was kind enough to give his time to shadow and learn in the clinic one summer. We are so pleased for them and think they are well suited to the profession, and health care!
They will represent us well.
Our Oakville Physiotherapists understand how competitive it is to get into Physiotherapy programs in Canada. It is highly competitive with high numbers of people applying. This high number of applicants drives the accepted grade point average even higher.
We have all experienced working hard on our studies, while often working part-time and volunteering in areas to assist our applications.
This is why we have taken on high-school co-op students and university co-op students as well as volunteers. Experiential learning and observing is so beneficial to young minds. We have even had students decide that they don’t want to be a Physiotherapist after working with us and discussing the different areas a Physio can work in. And that’s great! Diversity in personality and likes / dislikes is what make the world go round!
All the best to all the students starting this coming school year in health care professions like Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, and Chiropody. We know it has been a challenging few months for you, and it won’t be easy going into programs like these this school year, but know that you are resilient getting this far!
Congrats and all the best! From the team at Oakville’s Palermo Physio and Wellness.
