Time has flown over this last year and the team at North Oakville Physio, Massage, and Chiropody (foot care) clinic, Palermo Physiotherapy as Wellness Centre would like to thank everyone for their support. Physio’s Lisa and Claire, Massage Therapists Josephine and Sarah, and Chiropodist Brittney, love what they do and make every effort to make your experience with us a positive one.
Reflecting over this past year there have been many changes within Palermo Physio and Wellness as well as within the Palermo Professional Centre itself. When our Physio, Massage, and Foot Care Clinic opened, the building itself was a work in progress with the hallways still having concrete floors and no carpet. It’s come a long way from a drawing to a fully complete and beautiful building. From the time the building has been open to today, we have also had the pleasure of watching some of our neighbours along Dundas grow. The New Oakville Hospital has progressed and is visibly complete (opening scheduled for December 2015). The Palermo Village Retirement Residence which is just West of us on Dundas has opened and is accepting new residents (they have delicious food).
The time from the buildings grand opening to now has flown. From meeting Mayor Rob Burton and enjoying some treats from Tria Bakery and Cafe before their official opening to being able to pop in downstairs for a coffee breakfast or lunch any day.
We’ve been lucky over this past year to meet our neighbours in the building as well as become more involved in the community in Oakville and the surrounding area. The clinic has donated it’s open space area to the Oakville Parent Child Centre once a week at the suggestion of our neighours on the 2nd floor Chorus Speech & Hearing Centre. Chiropodist Brittney Wirtz is passionate about foot care and it’s impact on overall health and function and once every few weeks attends to the foot care of many of the residents in Palermo Village Retirement Residence.
Physiotherapist Lisa Clifford has recently finished her volunteer experience working as a Physio in the 2015 Pan Am Games and soccer. It was a great way to be involved in an exciting event in the community, a way to meet other practitioners and another way to continue learning. Palermo Physio and Wellness is excited to be working with Lions Valley Athletics in the future to help their athletes function at their best!
Our Oakville clinic has grown over the past year from 1 Physiotherapist, 1 Registered Massage Therapist, and 1 Chiropodist and 1 front desk admin to 2 Physios, 2 RMTs, 1 Chiropodist and 3 front desk admin. Among many things, we’ve helped people recover after broken bones, surgeries, sports injuries, falls, workplace injuries (WSIB) and car accidents. We’ve set people up with exercise programs to help them get stonger, prevent falls, improve posture and treat osteoporosis. We’ve helped people recover from foot pain, treat their warts, corns, callouses, ingrown toenails.
We’re looking forward continuing to work with the community of Oakville and the surrounding areas for their Physio, Massage, and Foot Care needs. Please CONTACT US if you have any questions regarding how we can help you.
